Hope

I hope I pass my exam. I hope the car doesn’t break down. I hope we find a vaccine soon. Mostly when we hope for something, it has to do with something where we, or someone we trust, have some influence. We study for the exam, we maintain the car, we fund researchers to develop a vaccine.

What’s the difference between that and our hope in God? In times of difficulty and stress it’s worth taking some time to pray and meditate on the matter of hoping in God. No matter what else comes to pass, in Christ we know we can trust God to hold us up through and beyond it all, including death. Ultimately, our hope must be in God.
