Mission Field

The congregation of Christ Church by the Sea goes forth from our Sanctuary to follow the teaching of Christ by actively participating in social and charitable programs for the betterment of others throughout the Puerto Vallarta community. Individually members represent our Christian mission with their involvement at all levels through the charitable organizations that promote a better life for all God’s children.

The parish Outreach Committee has adopted a school on the outer edge of San Vicente, serving a squatters settlement of migrant workers. There are one hundred, thirty children being educated in two small trailers provided by the government and three part time teachers not paid by the government. Under the leadership of Dennis Rike we have been able to build and equip a kitchen and are now working on a sheltered eating area. As an ongoing project the Outreach Committee is studying several other areas we can be involved in the education and quality of life for these children.

As a Christian community, Christ Church parishioners have committed ten percent of all contributions to outreach projects for the people of the greater Puerto Vallarta area. The entire offering from our Christmas Eve service, $20,000.00 pesos, was donated to Pasitos de Luz and Corazon de Ninas, two local organizations that provide special care for children. With the generous contribution of our members and friends, and personal physical involvement, we do represent the spirit of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Saviour.
