New Canopy at Local School

The kids at our local elementary school now have a sturdy canopy over their playground/basketball court. The cover will provide welcome relief during the hot months in Puerto Vallarta when school is in session. The donation and construction of the canopy is another outreach project of Christ Church by the Sea, spearheaded by Father Jack, Shirley and members of the Anglican congregation which meets throughout the winter season on Mexico's west coast.

Remember Roberto Aguilar Cedeno, the seminarian who worshipped with us at Christ Church by the Sea last Easter?

Well, he graduated, was ordained in February, is now Father Aguilar Cedeno, and has a parish in Colima. His new assignment is Iglesia Anglicana San Jorge.

But Father Roberto will be looking sharp in services thanks to a donation of four sets of vestments plus altar veils.

It was a February 2012 fundraiser at Christ Church by the Sea in Puerto Vallarta, Nayarit, MX. Part of an effort to raise enough money to cover the basketball court at the Churh's "adopted" local school so the kids can play hoops during the sweltering heat of summer. Delicious food, local entertainment and a fun evening made it a very successful event at Christ Church.

The Baker family from Beaumont, Alberta (near Edmonton). enjoyed a big day in their lives on Sunday, January 29, 2012 at Christ Church by the Sea. Benjamin Chad Baker was baptized and his parents, Chad and Monica Baker, will had their Civil Marriage Blessed. With them were family from Brandon, Kelowna, Prince George and Penticton.

El Dia de los Reyes ... Three Kings Day ... is celebrated twelve days after Christmas. It's the day the Three Wise Men (Melchoir, Gaspar, and Baltazar) arrived in Bethlehem to bring gifts to baby Jesus.

For members of Christ Church by the Sea, it's the day we bring gifts of chocolate milk and three kings cake ... Rosca de Reyes ... to schools in the neighborhood of our church. It's a big day for the kids and members of Christ Church by the Sea as we make this annual fun visit to our "adopted" school near the church.
