Father Bob moved to Puerto Vallarta following retirement from many years of Anglican parish ministry in Winnipeg, Manitoba. He was installed as our permanent Rector by the Bishop of the Diocese of Western Mexico, Ricardo Gomez Osnaya, in March of 2019.
Some of you will remember celebrating the anniversary of Father Bob’s 50 years of ordination in November 2022. At the ordination service, we thanked God for bringing Father Bob to Christ Church by the Sea and time has only strengthened that feeling of gratitude. We continue to benefit from Father Bob’s gift for making Biblical scholarship relevant and timely, whether during a Sunday sermon or with morning prayer.
Father Bob has shared his life with his husband Gerry for close to 30 years. They share a passion for gardening, food and their four cats.

We are deeply grateful for the arrival of our associate priest Father Fredy. What a thrill to have an associate priest again. Father Fredy, Fredy Geovanny Rodríguez Rincón, was a Catholic priest here in Mexico for just over 20 years before converting to Anglicanism. He studied at CETSA (Centro de Estudios Teológicos San Andres), the seminary in our Diocese of Western Mexico, and was received as an Anglican priest at Synod in February of this year. Father Fredy grew up in Colombia and holds dual Colombian and Mexican citizenship. He is very happy to be here at Christ Church by the Sea in Puerto Vallarta and we know he will to be a great support to Father Bob.
